Michael Hill’s Blue Mob

b. 1952, South Bronx, NEW YORK, NY, USA. Quite definitely today’s bluesman, Hill got Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton as his early versions, and through them, came across the music of B.B. Ruler, Albert Ruler and T-Bone Walker. He also noticed Buddy Guy starting for the Moms Of Invention in Central Recreation area. In the first 70s, he shaped Brown Sugar, including his sibling Kevin on bass and sisters Kathy and Wynette performing support vocals. Hill continued to try out in Dadahdoodahda with Vernon Reid, who afterwards shaped Living Color, and became section of Dark Rock and roll Coalition, which Reid helped to create in 1985. In 1987, he began another music group, the Blues Mob, with Kevin, Tony Lewis and Doug Booth, while also executing with Bluesland, a more substantial version of Dark brown Sugar. The second option documented ‘Bluestime In America’ for THE ANNALS IN OUR Future. At exactly the same time a demonstration of Blues Mob, with Fred McFarlane changing Booth on keyboards, was delivered to Alligator Information manager Bruce Iglauer, who authorized these to the label in 1994. Their debut recording Bloodlines contained initial songs, apart from Reid’s ‘Soldier’s Blues’. Hill commented perceptively, rather than without humour, on the grade of black existence in his nation, its risks and shortcomings. Further recordings possess followed around the Alligator, Singular and Ruf brands. Though couched inside a rock and roll format, Hill and Blues Mob’s music is very much indeed the blues of today.
