Surf-revival guitarist Tag Brodie — previously of Tag Brodie & the Beaver Patrol — shaped the Metalunas upon his go back to Vancouver from Japan, where he previously lived from 1996-97 fronting another browse combo called the Saboteurs. Having a rhythm portion of Mike Cinnamon (bass) and Fishing rod Moore (drums), the Metalunas produced their documenting debut in 1999 with X-Minus-One.
