Megan Peters

A singer/songwriter located in Austin, TX, Megan Peters can be an alt-folkie within the custom of Sonya Hunter or even a less-aggressive Ani DiFranco, matching clever, introspective lyrics to low-key, single acoustic guitar music. Delivered in 1961, Peters grew up in Sodium Lake Town where her folk-pop music produced her a fixture on the neighborhood music picture. In 1993, Peters performed at South by Southwest in Austin, TX, and was therefore taken with the town that she transferred there the next year. Following a devastating experience with supervisor/maker George Tobin (whose earlier career as shopping mall pop celebrity Tiffany’s Svengali should have already been a caution flag for the vocalist/songwriter), Peters extricated herself from that agreement and self-released her debut recording, TIME, in 1997. A follow-up, The Queen’s Bed, made an appearance in 1999.
