Yodship

In the later ’70s, a mysterious album — bearing only the term Yodship in the cover — was documented and privately pressed. The reason why it draws in some interest among hardcore enthusiasts is its link with the ten roughly previous records performed by disciples of Dad Yod, beneath the brands Dad Yod & the Heart of ’76, Yahowa 13, and Fireplace, Water, Air. Certainly this LP originated from the same group of Yod supporters and possibly contains a number of the music artists who participated in the last projects. The prior aggregations of Dad Yod-affiliated musical efforts had been spaced-out, anachronistic late-period psychedelia, generally. Yodship, however, is definitely even more subdued. Folky guitars and flute predominate, while smooth, occasionally moaning vocals sing stream-of-consciousness quasi-mystical lyrics, occasionally extolling Yahowa (i.e. Dad Yod), occasionally became a member of by female back-up singers. The recording continues to be reissued as you disc from the 13-Compact disc God and Locks: Yahowha Collection package set. Oddly enough, an album known as In Compliment of Our Dad on Venus Music (most likely privately pressed), acknowledged to Dad Yod within the internal label, was certainly done from the same music artists at the same program. This one-sided LP features just one single monitor, “Suite 3,” which happens to be a continuation from the same monitor that comprises the two-part collection on Yodship. In Compliment of Our Dad, however, isn’t included on the God and Locks: Yahowha Collection package.
