Matt Flinner

One of the better contemporary instrumentalists in neuro-scientific folk or bluegrass, Matt Flinner offers used the Trischkas, Tim and Mollie O’Brien, Sally Truck Meter as well as the group Sugarbeat, in addition to releasing his own single albums for the Compass label. Delivered in Sodium Lake Town, Utah, Flinner was a banjo prodigy during his teenage years, afterwards shifting to mandolin; he provides continued to be proficient on both, nevertheless, earning the Winfield Country wide Championships in 1990 for banjo and the next season for mandolin. After signing up for the group Sugarbeat, and touring with many of the biggest modern folk performers around, Matt Flinner shaped his own music group (guitarist David Grier, Jerry Douglas on dobro, and fiddlers Stuart Duncan, Darol Anger and Tim O’Brien) and documented The Watch From Right here with Grammy-winning manufacturer Todd Phillips.
