Marvin Ash

Marvin Ash was an excellent string/stride participant who brought his own audio and enthusiasm to prebop jazz. Ash was raised in Kansas Town and performed in local rings including those of Wallie Stoeffer, Connie Conrad, Herman Waldman and Jack port Crawford. Over time surviving in Tulsa (1936-42) and focusing on the air, he moved completely to LA in 1942. Ash spent a while dealing with Wingy Manone and sometimes made an appearance with all-star rings but spent the majority of his profession playing in little combos. Affected by such pianists as Wayne P. Johnson, Excess fat Waller and Joe Sullivan, Ash may possess only been 3 years more than Dizzy Gillespie but he certainly belonged to a youthful musical era. Since he was located in LA, Ash did intensive function in the studios and worked well for the Walt Disney music division. He had possibilities to play with Jack port Teagarden, Matty Matlock and Pete Daily among numerous others. Marvin Ash documented as a head for Reflection (1946-47), Leap, Capitol, Jazz Guy and lastly for Decca in 1956. In old age he performed piano at a little bar situated in a bowling alley, gladly executing prewar classics.
