Mark Atkins

The music, artistic, and storytelling traditions of Australia’s aboriginals are preserved with the performances of didgeridoo player and builder Tag Atkins. While he mainly performs like a soloist, Atkins continues to be an essential person in the Kooriwadjula Outfit of Modern and Traditional Australian Music artists and Ankala, an organization he created with Aboriginal designer Janawirri Yiparrka. Atkins in addition has performed with Jimmy Web page, Robert Plant, as well as the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Atkins represents the union of two varied cultures, his dad was an Irish American and his mom was an associate from the Yamijiti, an Aboriginal tribe in traditional western Australia.
