Mamajuana

Constructed by Dominican composer/arranger Eddi González, 21-part band Mamajuana contains four singers, three of these from Santiago de los Caballeros and something from SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA de Macorís. Mamajuana (name of the unique and aphrodisiac drink) combines Afro-Caribbean and modern rhythms with passionate lyrics. Their self-titled debut recording, released by Sony International, presented the strike singles “Mamasota” and “Sin El Beso Suyo.” After fourteen days within the U.S. marketplace, Mamajuana offered 20,000 copies.
