Little Hat Jones

George “Small Head wear” Jones was created Oct 5, 1899, in Bowie State, TX. He was a well-known road vocalist in San Antonio within the middle-’20s, and produced his initial recordings there on June 15, 1929, when he lower “New Two Sixteen Blues” and “Two String Blues” for OKeh Information. At the same program he sat in on electric guitar for yet another nine paths by Tx Alexander. OKeh brought Jones back again six days afterwards to record four even more tunes, including “Rolled laterally Blues,” “Rush Blues,” “Small Hat Blues,” and “Corpus Blues,” and once again a year later on, on June 14, 1930, when he monitored “Kentucky Blues” (a wonderfully re-imagined edition of “Shed John”), “Bye Bye Baby Blues,” “Mix water Blues,” and “Cherry Road Blues.” For reasons uknown, Jones never documented again, abandoning a legacy of ten tunes, plus nine even more like a sideman for Tx Alexander. He passed away in Naples, TX, in 1981. Small Hat Jones’ brand style of beginning tunes uptempo on acoustic guitar, only to decelerate when he started performing, was oddly endearing, and he handled, either unintentionally or design, to carefully turn what will be a unique handicap for some musicians right into a personal and a secured asset. One of is own best tunes, “Bye Bye Baby Blues,” presented prominently within the soundtrack towards the movie Ghost Globe in 2001.
