Little Arthur Duncan

Chicago blues singer/harpist Small Arthur Duncan was created in Indianola, MS in 1934 and elevated on a single Woodburn Plantation as B.B. Ruler. He relocated towards the Windy City’s Western Side through the 1950s, frequently playing together with acoustic guitar great Earl Hooker; regardless of the exclusive harmonica sound made by his custom made of playing the bass records on the proper, for many years Duncan continued to be little-known beyond the Chicago picture, primarily showing up at his personal Back Scratcher Sociable Golf club. In 1989 he cut Poor Status for the Blues Ruler label, which same 12 months was also recorded alongside Robert Plunkett and Emery Williams Jr. on Cannonball’s Blues Across America–The Chicago Picture; the Delmark launch Singin’ with sunlight followed ten years later.
