Leaves’ Eyes

Gothic metallic band Leaves’ Eyes was created from the partnership between singer Liv Kristine Espenæs and guitarist Alexander Krull, who met whilst she was fronting Norway’s Theatre of Tragedy and he Germany’s Atrocity. The set eventually wedded and announced their musical union in 2003, with Espenæs stopping Theater of Tragedy to become listed on Krull and the others of Atrocity’s lineup (guitarists Thorsten Bauer and Mathias Roderer, bassist Christian Lukhaup, and drummer Nick Barker) to discovered Leaves’ Eye and record their 2004 debut record, Lovelorn. Alongside its next-year successor, Vinland Saga, the record verified the brand new group’s affinity for theatrical, symphonic goth-metal, because the leading few living out the ‘beauty as well as the beast’ vocal assignments.
