Karat

German rock-band Karat shaped in that which was then East Germany in 1975 from your ashes of another group called Panta Rhei. The original lineup contains vocalist Hans-Joachim “Neumi” Neumann, keyboardist Ulrich “Ed” Swillms, bassist Henning Protzmann, drummer Konrad Burkert, and guitarists Herbert Dreilich and Utlrich Pexa. Burkert and Pexa had been replaced the next 12 months by Michael Schwandt and Bernd Römer, and Neumann remaining the group 1977 to satisfy military duties, departing Dreilich to dominate business lead vocals. They released their debut in 1978, which presented the strike “König der Welt.” The group’s penchant for intensifying rock continuing on 1979’s Über Sieben Brücken, which presented their biggest strike, “Über Sieben Brücken Mußt du Geh’n,” aswell as the epic “Albatros,” the second option which boldly criticized the Berlin Wall structure. Schwanenkönig found its way to 1980 accompanied by the platinum Der Blaue World in 1982 and Die Sieben Wunder der Welt in 1984.
