Judy Argo

Delivered and raised in Atlanta, GA, Judy Argo began singing in neighborhood clubs on the sensitive age group of 15, her mom having to arrive go with her up after every gig. Shifting to NEW YORK at age group 17, Argo was victimized initial by alcohol and drugs and by an abusive relationship. These personal setbacks compelled her to forego her performing profession. It wasn’t before past due ’80s that Agro begun to recover rather than before ’90s that she came back to executing. After effective stints at such NY night clubs as Tavern for the Green and Danny’s Skylight Area, Argo was honored in 1995 using the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Night clubs’ Best Feminine NY Debut Performer. Rosemary Clooney and Annie Ross are also awarded this award. Argo after that performed in London on the Pizza for the Park with the Café Royal. Her record, True Love Methods, premiered by Sterling Information in 1995. Upon this record with her can be an all-star ensemble of performers, included in this Gerry Mulligan, Jay Leonhardt, Marvin Stamm, Ray Dark brown, Toots Thielemanns, Houston Person, and her longtime accompanist, the under-valued Mike Renzi. She also caused Duke Pearson and drummer Akira Tana. Argo’s design, while firmly hers, is at the custom of Peggy Lee, Carol Sloane, Sue Raney, Ella Fitzgerald, and Anita O’Day. Judy Argo passed away silently in her rest on March 29, 2004. She was one of the most consistent interpreters of these musical gems which will make up the fantastic American Songbook.
