John Trueheart

b. c.1900, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, d. 1949, NEW YORK, NY, USA. Trueheart began playing banjo and acoustic guitar with local rings, where another youthful hopeful was his good friend, Chick Webb. When Webb visited NY, Trueheart also uprooted and continued to be with Webb, aside from a long disease, before drummer’s loss of life. Trueheart remained on using the music group which continued beneath the nominal management of Ella Fitzgerald. Then teamed up with Artwork Hodes among others for a short while before disease prevailed and he retired from music. A good and reliable (and clearly extremely faithful) musician, Trueheart’s playing on his many information with Webb is usually rarely obviously audible provided the specialized shortcomings of the time. However, he was a perfect big music group player, assisting to provide a solid rhythmic pulse to 1 of the greatest of the period’s bands.
