John Ore

Bassist John Ore is most beneficial known for his association with Thelonious Monk but throughout his job he demonstrated his capability to perform quite credibly in golf swing and bop settings too. Ore analyzed cello at the brand new College of Music in Philadelphia (1943-46) and bass at Juilliard (1952). He caused many top titles in the 1950s including Small Grimes (1953), George Wallington, Lester Youthful, Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins, Elmo Wish and Bud Powell (on / off from 1955-57). Ore was an associate from the Thelonious Monk Quartet from 1960-63, used the Two times Six of Paris (1964) and caused Powell once again and with Teddy Wilson. The bassist, who used Earl Hines in the middle-1970s (documenting with him in 1977), has already established a lesser profile because the early 1980s. Ore, who never really had a chance to business lead his personal record day, was always a good accompanist and fared well as an intermittent soloist.
