Jimmy Charles

Jimmy Charles, the singer using the crying design, was created in Patterson, NJ, in 1942. Before he sang expertly, he developed quite a regional status wailing at churches and community features. When Charles was 16, his uncle followed him to NY to try his fortune at the novice talent shows kept in the Apollo.
