Jeff Hamilton

A trusted and versatile drummer who noises equally aware of a big music group or combo, Jeff Hamilton includes a solid reputation within the jazz globe. He went to Indiana University or college, in 1974 was using the Tommy Dorsey ghost music group, performed briefly with Lionel Hampton, and spent 2 yrs as an associate of Monty Alexander’s Trio (1975-1977). Hamilton was with Woody Herman’s Orchestra (1977-1978), joined up with the L.A. Four (with whom he produced six information), and began recording regularly like a sideman for Concord. During 1983-1987, he performed with Ella Fitzgerald, the Count number Basie Orchestra, Rosemary Clooney, and Monty Alexander. Within the 1990s, Hamilton toured the planet with Oscar Peterson as well as the Ray Dark brown trio, gigged using the Clayton Brothers’ quartet, and was a co-leader (with John and Jeff Clayton) from the Clayton-Hamilton Orchestra.
