Janet Beveridge Bean

Janet Beveridge Bean was created in Florida, but was raised in Louisville, KY. By the first ’80s, she was playing percussion in an area punk music group, but 1983 noticed the start of her two primary musical pursuits. That 12 months she was recruited by Catherine Ann Irwin (whom she’d known given that they had been children) to try out country covers, generally, in what would ultimately become Freakwater. Also that 12 months, Bean created Eleventh Dream Day time, as drummer, with guitarist Rick Rizzo, who was simply going to university in Kentucky. In 1986, Eleventh Desire Day time released its debut EP, accompanied by Prairie College Freakout in 1988. Also in 1988, Amoeba Information contacted Irwin and Bean about documenting their group, that was after that dubbed Freakwater; the band’s self-titled debut premiered in 1989. Eleventh Desire Day spent another five years with Atlantic, liberating three albums which were critically acclaimed but didn’t sell well. During this time period period, Freakwater also released three albums that demonstrated the band developing steadily. After becoming decreased by Atlantic, EDD released Ursa Main for Chicago-based indie Atavistic, after that continued something of the hiatus, permitting Bean to focus on Freakwater and increasing her child. The past due ’90s experienced Freakwater liberating another three albums for Thrill Jockey, and getting increasingly more critical compliment, while Eleventh Desire Day continued liberating albums sporadically, also right now on Thrill Jockey. In 2002, Bean created Janet Bean & the Concertina Cable, who released their debut recording, Dragging Question Lake, in Apr of 2003.
