In July 2000, soon after Slum Community released its long-awaited Fantastic, Vol. 2 record, the Detroit-based hip-hop trio released a few of their old material over the short album Greatest Kept Top secret. Clocking at significantly less than 30 minutes, done with some remixes, and related to the one-off moniker J-88, Greatest Kept Top secret features leftover materials from Slum Village’s storied and intensely bootlegged Fantastic, Vol. 1 record.
