Honey Radar’s Jason Henn began saving tunes in his Indiana bedroom in the mid-2000s, quickly building up an extraordinary catalog of lo-fi acoustic guitar pop that sounded just like a much less drunk Guided by Voices with some Rolling Rocks and Midwestern weirdness mixed in. He quickly began liberating CD-Rs, cassettes, and lathe-cut singles, using the even more artwork project-style recordings venturing out under his name as well as the poppier choices as Honey Radar produces. Indiana-based Third Uncle started liberating Honey Radar information and in 2014, after Henn experienced relocated to Philadelphia, the label released the 1st Honey Radar recording, Chain Smoking cigarettes on Easter. Though Henn experienced gathered collectively a music group for concert events, the recording was still a home-recorded single project. Even more singles adopted the album, including 2015’s The Rabbit’s Tone of voice, which began the project’s romantic relationship with What’s Your Rupture? That important label released the next Honey Radar recording, Blank Cartoon, in-may of 2016. Along with Henn, users from the live music group (Jesse Stober, Jordan Burgis, Armen Knox, Nathan Paul, and Mario Lopez) performed on the recording.
