Songwriter/guitarist Matt Reasor and vocalist Dan Coakley formed Large or Hellwater after conference in LA in 2001. The duo became a normal fixture in the California nation rock scene, frequently playing night clubs and concerts, including an appearance at Gramfest, the annual Gram Parsons event kept in Joshua Tree, CA. They documented their self-titled 1st recording in Nashville, liberating it in 2002.
