Floros Floridis

Because the 1970s, wind instrumentalist Floros Floridis is a key improviser and band leader in the progressive rock and roll and contemporary jazz scenes of Greece. He offers performed saxophones, clarinets and flute with additional European music artists including Peter Kowald, Günter Sommer, Han Bennink, Evan Parker, Derek Bailey and Ilias Papadopoulos. Regarded as a significant musician in modern Western european music’s “Mediterranean stream,” Floridis led the Florina Brass Music group, opened up for Sonic Youngsters and produced the cultural jazz group Wutu Wupatu through the 1990s. His bandmates in Wutu Wupatu are bassist Nektarios Karantzis and accordionist Kostas Vomvolos, as well as the group released its self-titled debut past due in the 10 years over the Greek label, Ano Kato.
