Knoxville, TN punk-pop combo Flesh Automobile traced its roots towards the 1992 formation from the Used, a trash-punk quartet shaped by singer/guitarist Tom Pappas, guitarist Brandon Fisher, bassist Chris Hargrove and drummer John Davis. After issuing a set of self-released cassettes, Davis still left the Used to create Superdrag, ultimately recruiting both Pappas and Fisher to become listed on the band aswell; Superdrag quickly superceded the Utilized as the principal creative outlet for many worried, and after some well-received indie produces recorded its main label debut Regretfully Yours in 1995, rating an alternative solution radio hit using the solitary “Sucked Out.” For the time being Pappas also continuing writing and documenting his own materials, and in early 1996 he, Davis and Superdrag drummer Don Coffey Jr. moved into the studio room as Flesh Automobile, liberating a self-titled cassette later on that yr.
