Fiddling Burk Barbour

b. 20 July 1910, Pittsylvania State, Virginia, USA. Like other early fiddlers, Barbour started his career whenever a kid and was earning awards at age 12. In the middle-30s, along with his music group Southern Serenaders, he performed various r / c, including WJJD Chicago, where he also documented transcriptions as the Employed Hands. Between 1944 and 1946, he caused Molly O’Time AS WELL AS THE Cumberland Mountain People at Beckley, Dallas and Knoxville, being a stand-in for Skeets Williamson who was simply drafted for battle provider. When Williamson came back, O’Time still maintained Barbour, having made a decision to include a twin fiddle music group sound. He ultimately left O’Time and with Jim Eanes, he produced the Blue Mountain Children. Through the 40s, he also performed on recording periods using the Carlisles. Through the middle-80s, he was playing fiddle on WLVA-TV and showing up with a music group called the Aged Timers.
