Donna Regina

During an existence that spanned nearly 2 decades and created several albums, Cologne, Germany-based electronic indie pop group Donna Regina — focused throughout the breathy vocals of singer Regina Janssen, who proved helpful alongside Günther Janssen, her fellow producer, multi-instrumentalist, and partner — had been initially in comparison to Saint Etienne and something Dove. Over time, however, they set up a distinct, calm sound within a regularly stimulating and hushed body of function. While most of the material was obviously designed for home-listening conditions, Donna Regina continued to be linked to dance music through remixes taken care of by famous brands Matthew Herbert, Mouse on Mars, Michael Mayer, and Isolée. In the past due ’90s, the group still left the Strange Methods label and became a member of the Karaoke Kalk roster using a Quiet Week inside your home, Northern Common (2002), Later (2003), Gradual Killer (2005), Even more (2007), as well as the Decline of Feminine Pleasure (2010). Two anthologies, both which had been released in 2004, curved up their finest output and protected distinct stages: THE FIRST Years, released over the Polish Gusstaff label, along with a Collection of Small Secrets, released on France’s Tricatel. They came back in-may 2014 using the internationally flavored record Holding the Reflection for Sophia Loren. The group was the main topic of a 2015 tribute record, Dis Cover – Donna Regina as Documented By, which included interpretations by Mouse on Mars, Gaming console, Bertrand Burgalat, among others.
