Dominique Toney

Dominique Toney is a singer, songwriter, arranger, maker, and pianist whose design of modern R&B is refined and introspective. The child of Grammy-nominated musician Kevin Toney (the Blackbyrds) and high-profile outfit developer Phyllis Toney, she grew up in Southern California with a young age group was deeply involved with dance, music, and movie theater. At NY University, she researched musical movie theater and got classes in songwriting. In 2014, she released A Like Like Ours on her behalf father’s K-Tone label. The elder Toney made an appearance on the record, as did additional main veterans of R&B and jazz, including guitarists Ray Parker, Jr., Craig T. Cooper, and bassist Freddie Washington.
