Dércio Marques

Dércio Marques hasn’t had any mass achievement along with his songwriting/executing, which is a conscious choice. He previously documented nine albums by the entire year 2000; following the first one (Terra, Vento e Caminho, 1977), he became respectable in the violeiro (music artists and followers of Brazilian traditional nation music) circles. Segredos Vegetais (1988) is known as a vintage in the present day repertory of this style. However, his works aren’t specifically traditional, having been also substantially experimental, including noises of his self-made devices. Because the ’60s, Marques continues to be touring throughout Latin America, playing his (and additional Brazilian composers’) music and in addition collecting music from additional individuals. In 1977 he participated inside a concert for the Brazilian Culture for the Improvement of Sciences as well as Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque, Elis Regina, Maria Medalha, MPB-4, and additional artists. Together with his concern for character, Marques also makes a spot on paper and documenting for kids. Monjolear (1996), for instance, was documented live with a choir of 240 kids and was nominated for the Prêmio Clear Music Award.
