Deon Estus

A talented bass participant and R&B vocalist whose companionship with George Michael earned him the 1989 hit ballad “Heaven Help Me personally,” Deon Estus was created and raised in Detroit, Michigan, where he sang in the institution choir and studied bass beneath the tutelage from the past due Wayne Jamerson (from the legendary Funk Brothers). As a teenager, Estus recorded a set of well-received LPs using the group Brainstorm. He spent the first ’80s as an in-demand program player, executing on Marvin Gaye’s 1982 comeback record Midnight Love, amongst others. He ultimately joined the music group Wham!, and afterwards supported frontman George Michael when he proceeded to go single. In 1989, Estus released his initial and only single record, Spell, that was made by Colin Campsie and George McFarlane, with many tracks made by George Michael. The record spawned a trio of strikes, including “Me or the Rumours,” the name track, and these “Heaven Help Me,” the last mentioned which reached amount five in the Billboard Scorching 100, and highlighted extra vocals from Michael. Estus ultimately returned to being truly a top-notch program player, appearing together with several performers, including Frank Zappa, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Tina Turner, and George Clinton.
