De la Ghetto

De la Ghetto is a reggaetón designer from Puerto Rico who established himself in tandem with onetime partner Arcangel before getting into a solo profession in 2007. Given birth to Rafael Castillo on Sept 17, 1982, in NEW YORK, he later relocated with his family members to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and became associated with the city’s burgeoning reggaetón picture. In 2004 he founded Arcangel con De la Ghetto, a duo with fellow NY City-born Puerto Rican designer Arcangel (given birth to Austin Santos). The duo 1st established themselves using the track “Pégate,” which is usually featured on the favorite Hector Un Father-hosted mixtape recording Sangre Nueva (2005). Throughout 2005 and 2006, Arcangel con De la Ghetto had been featured on a number of reggaetón albums, including Luny Music’ Mas Circulation: Los Benjamins (2006), and had been connected with Baby Information, the label of Zion (from the duo Zion & Lennox). Nevertheless, Arcangel announced in Dec 2006 that he was getting into a solo profession and founding a label of his very own. In the wake of Arcangel’s announcement, De la Ghetto embarked on the solo profession of his very own and was eventually highlighted on his biggest strike to time, the Tito Un Bambino and Randy remix of “Siente un Boom” featured in the album Top grade: Un Internacional (2007). Also in 2007 he have scored his second main strike with “Sensación del Bloque,” another of his collaborations with Randy. Pursuing these mainstream discovery strikes, De la Ghetto produced his major-label full-length record debut with Masacre Musical (2008).
