The embryonic emo band Cross My Heart continues to be well touted in the press for his or her creatively wounded lyrics, and frontman Ryan Shelkett doesn’t avoid hitting upon despair, remorse, and revival. The Baltimore four-piece (curved out by drummer Evan Tanner, bassist Christopher Camden, and guitarist/vocalist Dwayne Bruner) released its self-titled EP in 1999. Their full-length Brief Contemporary, a solid showcase of Combination My Heart’s restless power of heart-wrenching musical intricacy, came the next calendar year. The EP THE REASON WHY I Failed History made an appearance in 2003.
