Color

Although Texas is well known primarily for spawning such smart rockers as ZZ Best and Pantera over time, the first 21st century emergence of the Lone Star Condition band which was even more a kin to such pop/rock chart-toppers as Matchbox 20 and Third Vision Blind, called Color. The quartet features Chris Cann (vocals), Dean Truitt (acoustic guitar), Chad Salls (bass), and Vehicle Robbins (drums), and created originally in the past due ’90s in Austin (two of their users, Salls and Truitt, had been members from the short-lived, early-’90s power pop clothing Seed). In Sept of 2001, the quartet released its debut recording, Are You BESIDE ME? (around the Arista imprint Melisma), made by Grammy Award-winning maker Matt Serletic (whose earlier credits consist of Matchbox Twenty, Aerosmith, and Santana, amongst others).
