Biography

Madison, WI’s Bongzilla focus on uncommonly large and doomy sludge-core focused on their only like: weed. Shaped in the middle-’90s by Mike “Muleboy” Makela (electric guitar/vocals), Jeff Schultz (electric guitar), Nate Dethlefsen (bass), and Mike Henry (drums), the group implemented its first demonstration with 1998’s Options for Attaining Intensive Altitudes EP. This, subsequently, was accompanied by a string of abusively large, corrosively down-tuned produces through Relapse Information, including 1999’s Stash, 2002’s Gateway, 2004’s Apogee, and 2005’s Amerijuanican.
