Equally inspired simply by Sonic Youth, Joy Division, Gang of Four, as well as the Cure, East London art punkers Bloc Party mix angular sonics with pop structures. Comprising vocalist/guitarist Kele Okereke, guitarist Russell Lissack, bassist/vocalist Gordon Moakes, and drummer Matt Tong, the music group was formerly referred to as Angel Range and Union before buying Bloc Party.
