Black Joe Lewis

Austin-based Dark Joe Lewis is usually a modern singer and guitarist having a bent toward vintage blues, soul, and R&B. Supported by his music group the Honeybears, Lewis pulls motivation from such famous “shouters” as Howlin’ Wolf, Wilson Pickett, and Wayne Brown, aswell as smoother crooners including Sam Cooke. Dark Joe Lewis released his debut album on Weary in 2007. Around once, his appearance in the South by Southwest Event in Austin, Tx garnered increased lover and press support. In ’09 2009, Dark Joe Lewis & the Honeybears released Inform ‘Em What Your Name Is usually!, made by Jim Eno (Spoon), on Shed Highway. The music group toured relentlessly over another 12 months before reconvening at Austin’s General public Hi-Fi studio room with Eno to record its actually grittier follow-up, Scandalous. The arranged included an appearance from the gospel group the Family members on “You Been Lyin’.” Scandalous premiered on Shed Highway in March of 2011. In 2013, Lewis came back with his 4th studio recording, the natural and raucous Electric powered Slave.
