Basin Street Six

THE BRAND NEW Orleans-based Basin Road Six was perhaps most obviously for featuring clarinetist Pete Fountain and trumpeter/vocalist George Girard at the start of the careers. A Dixieland sextet that also included trombonist Joe Rotis and pianist Roy Zimmerman one of the soloists, the Basin Road Six worked continuously for a while in New Orleans and documented for 504, Group, and Mercury; the Group recordings have already been reissued on Compact disc by GHB.
