Band Aparte

Having a brooding mixture of nervy post-punk and beachy West Coast goth rock and roll, Los Angeles-based duo Group Aparte may be the brainchild of Brian Mendoza and Tara Jane. Motivated by seminal underground rings like Nick Cave & the Poor Seeds, the Get rid of, Echo & the Bunnymen, Sonic Youngsters, New Purchase, and Useless Kennedys, the band’s smart pairing of gloomy darkwave and big pop hooks ultimately arrived them at L.A. indie label Manifesto Information. The resulting Storage on Trial, their debut long-player, premiered in 2016.
