Ascend

Vocalist Gentry Densley (Iceburn, Eagle Twin, etc.) and guitarist Greg Anderson (Goatsnake, Sunn 0))), Burning up Witch, etc.) had been both mixed up in American underground doom/drone picture for nearly 2 decades before pairing up in the collaborative task Ascend. Once the chance finally arose via 2008’s Southern Lord-released Ample Open fire Within recording, the duo reached out to several likeminded music artists (including Void guitarist Bubba Dupree, previous Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil, and Globe organist and trombone participant Stebmo, amongst others) to greatly help them accomplish their highly uncommon eyesight for rumbling drone epics educated by way of a jazz fusion mentality.
