Exeter, England-based post-rock trio Equipment was formed by guitarist/vocalist Wayne Brooks, bassist Stuart Christie, and drummer David Ireland, schoolmates whose earliest music sprung using their mutual admiration of rings want Spacemen 3 and Pleasure Department. Upon completing their documented debut “Weightless Circumstances” for an improvisational compilation around the M.T.B. label, Christie remaining the group to spotlight his solo task Tranquility 400, with bassist Michael Parker tapped as his substitute. Honing their very own contemplative, minimalist audio during the period of the EP trilogy Organised Audio, Into YOUR HOUSE and Period and Space (released between July 1997 and July 1998 for the trio’s very own Security.com label), Machine signed to the Mute label in early 1999, soon issuing the one “Meals Music”; the full-length Manual implemented that fall. An EP called Six Modular Parts premiered in middle-2000. The eclectically cohesive Imperial Metric, which showcased a far more diverse consider a darker post-punk period, made an appearance in summertime 2001.
