Nashville post-hardcore trio Apollo Up! mixes punky aggression having a fondness for challenging song constructions and unexpected powerful shifts, developing a cerebral but impassioned audio equally comparable to the deceptively available experimentalism of Ted Leo & the Pharmacists as well as the awesome strength of Fugazi. After many years spent slogging through a number of minor local clothes with titles like Lotushalo as well as the Shakedown Luxury cruise, Alabama-born vocalist and guitarist Jay Leo Phillips, bassist Mike Shepherd, and drummer Jerome Frey shaped Apollo Up! in past due 2002.
