Anita Lane

Anita Street rose to prominence through her association with previous sweetheart Nick Cave and contributed lyrics to such Poor Seeds and PARTY recordings as “Kiss Me personally Dark,” “From Her to Eternity” and “Stranger Than Kindness.” She also made an appearance on monitors by Barry Adamson, Einsturzende Neubauten and Mick Harvey. Her sporadic single career began using the four-song EP Dirty Sings, which showcased Lane’s bruised vocal design. 1995’s Dirty Pearl was an odds-and-ends assortment of monitors that Lane documented over the amount of ten years. Cave and different Bad Seeds people make appearances for the launch, as will Einsturzende Neubaten. Poor Seed Mick Harvey created much of your time and effort and Barry Adamson added to the preparations. 2001 saw the discharge of Anita Lane’s 1st fully-realized studio room LP, Sex O’Clock. The (nearly) danceable and poppy work was manufactured in collaboration using the very helpful Harvey, who offered music and instrumentation. (A number of the musical preparations are tape loops of Poor Seeds jams through the middle-90s.) The recording also presented a cover of Gil Scott-Heron’s “House Is Where in fact the Hatred Can be.”
