Adrienne Young

Adrienne Young was created in Tallahassee, FL, but was raised in Clearwater, just western of Tampa. She transferred to Nashville to wait Belmont University, partly to indulge her like of nation music. Previously an associate of folk-pop rings Big Light Undies and Liters of Pop, her passionate performing, solid clawhammer banjo abilities, and deft songwriting seduced interest when she gained within the bluegrass group of the Chris Austin songwriting competition at MerleFest in 2003 for the song she acquired co-written with Tag D. Sanders known as “Sadie’s Melody.” Her initial record, Plow to the finish from the Row, made by Nashville pop veteran and multi-instrumentalist Will Kimbrough, made an appearance on her very own Addiebelle label past due in 2003, and gained a Grammy nomination that same calendar year for its product packaging (each record included a pack of wildflower seed products). Adept at fusing old-timey string music group sensibilities with contemporary pop overtones, Youthful and her music group Small Sadie (which features Tyler Give on acoustic guitar, Clayton Campbell on fiddle and mandolin, Amanda Kowalski on bass, and Steven Sandler on percussion) are actually a solid live act. Another album, The Artwork of Virtue, made an appearance in 2005, accompanied by Room to develop in 2007.
