Shadz O’Blak

Inspired from the success of hip-hop and rap, Shadz O’Blak, and also other youthful Kenyan rings, began to take a look at their have culture in the mid-’90s. Led by performers Ffyonna and Laura, Shadz O’Blak fascinated international attention among the rings appearing for the groundbreaking Todd Josiah-produced compilation recording, Kenyan: the First Section in 1997. Despite their impact on Kenya’s music, Shadz O’Blak disbanded soon after the album’s launch with Ffyonna planing a trip to america to study.
