Ora Alexander

Ora Alexander recorded 10 tracks (only eight which were ever released) in NEW YORK for Columbia Information between Might 1931 and March 1932. The piano participant on the paths is not called (Milton Davage certainly has on at least “I’m Outrageous About My Patootie”), so that it can be done that Alexander herself performed the piano parts, although that continues to be only a conjecture. The tracks themselves are tough and rowdy barrelhouse affairs, with Alexander’s sexy and saucy vocals getting the defining component. The recording schedules place her in NY at least double within a season, but whether she resided there or somewhere else isn’t known.
