Perhaps one of the most advanced flutists of his period, Agenor Bens participated in the initial audition from the functions by Villa-Lobos in Nova Friburgo RJ in 1915, as well as Villa-Lobos’ wife at that time, Lucília, and the composer on the violoncello. Bens documented many gramophone plates, which verify his virtuosity and appearance, like Koeller’s “Serenata Oriental,” and was also a significant name from the choro.
