The Ghost

The obscure later-’60s British band the Ghost played a fairly eccentric and anxious combination of psychedelia, folk-rock, and progressive rock on the sole album, 1970’s IF YOU ARE Dead — One Second. Shaped in Birmingham, the group highlighted two quite different business lead vocalists, the bellowing and ominous Paul Eastment (who was simply in another obscure U.K. psych music group, Velvet Fogg) as well as the folky Shirley Kent (who got previously sung on the little-known charity EP). The group split up shortly after the discharge of its non-LP one “I’ve Surely got to Become familiar with You” in 1970. Kent surfaced three . 5 decades later being a Spanish-flavored jazz vocalist on her separately released Spandangos Compact disc.
