The Curious Mystery

Were only available in 2005 by singers/multi-instrumentalists Shana Cleveland and Nicolas Gonzalez, the Curious Mystery present an extremely curious crossbreed of musical designs. Rooted in indie rock and roll — with tinges of ’60s psychedelia, Americana, bluegrass, film noir, and lo-fi — these were occasionally billed like a junkyard music group in their previous shows, because of a penchant for incorporating a arbitrary assortment of tools in their units. Along with cross instruments constructed by Gonzalaz (a gourd with metal rods protruding of it, used a bow, for just one), it wasn’t unusual to find out melodica, autoharp, banjo, and unstable household stuff like plastic material tubes and cooking items at a Interested Mystery display, alongside the original trio of acoustic guitar, drums, and bass. After recruiting bassist Bradford Switch and drummer Faustine B. Hudson (also a connoisseur of off-kilter percussive products), the music group was authorized to K Information in 2008, and documented its debut recording with label mind Calvin Johnson. After a planned release day for January, Rotting Gradually was pushed back again and officially released in-may of 2009. The music group expanded on the audio and recruited K Information’ personal Karl Blau to create the follow-up We Creeling, that was recorded this year 2010 and released in the springtime of 2011.
