John Critchinson

Jazz pianist John Critchinson was created in East London on Dec 24, 1934; he produced his professional debut on the Shower Regency Ballroom to get tenor saxophonist Ted Carter, heading to organize the Chippenham-based Icebox Membership and playing behind going to performers including Ronnie Scott. Critchinson spent the first ’70s alongside drummer Martin Drew and bassist Ron Mathewson in the CDM Trio; upon relocating to London, he collaborated with tenor saxophonist Kathy Stobart before putting your signature on on with Ronnie Scott full-time in 1979. Their association continuing beyond Scott’s 1996 loss of life, with Critichinson developing a quartet with saxophonist Pat Crumly, bassist Leon Clayton and drummer Tag Fletcher to tour beneath the banner of “The Ronnie Scott Legacy”; the tribute record Excuse Me, Perform I UNDERSTAND You? implemented in 1999.
