Black Elk

Black Elk, the individual, was a legendary medicine man from the Oglala Lakota (Sioux) tribe who fought in both Battle of Small Big Horn of 1876 as well as the massacre in Wounded Leg in 1890 — but Dark Elk, the music group, perform an eclectic mixture of metallic, hardcore, sludge, alternate, art, and sound rock and roll. Hailing from Portland, OR, the group can be made up of vocalist Tom Glose, guitarist Erik Trammell, bassist Don Capuano, and drummer Matt Latorre, and released its eponymous debut in 2006 through Important Blast Records.
