Rufus G. Perryman

b. 23 Oct 1892, Monroe, Louisiana, USA, d. 2 January 1973, St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Although his performing and piano playing had been barely sufficient, Perryman’s work includes a rather endearing, fundamental earthiness to it. In this respect it really is sometimes better the greater bland designs that developed because the blues became a satisfactory part of well-known entertainment. He performed mostly within the south, attaining wider popularity due to recordings, and in the past due 50s and early 60s he toured European countries. In 1970 he documented music for the soundtrack from the film Blues Like Showers Of Rainfall. Perryman, who was simply also called Speckled Crimson, was the elder sibling of William ‘ Piano Crimson’ Perryman.
