You start with 2006’s From Space, Mi-Gu added guitarist/manufacturer Hirotaka “Shimmy” Shimizu — who was simply also a bandmate of Araki’s in Cornelius’ group and in various other projects — towards the flip. The pair came back in ’09 2009 with Tugging from Above, that was released on Ryuichi Sakamoto’s label Commons. 3 years afterwards, the collection Pick the Light produced Mi-Gu’s music even more available to American audiences.
